Sargadelos is ceramic ware that is made in Galica and is famous throughout Spain. The factory is about a 40 minute drive from Granero del Burro and is a good option for a rainy day. It is best to go midweek as you can take a tour of the factory and watch them producing and painting everything. Click here for directions.
There is a large shop which stocks their full range of products. Everything from crockery sets to bracelets, earrings, ornaments, rings and much more. You can look at their online shop here
On Monday to Friday, the factory is open and you can go and have a look around. It is free and the tours are not guided. You just go and look at what you want to. The people who work there are very interesting and quite happy to talk to you and explain what they are doing. Some of the hand painting is very intricate.
It is very close to the village of Cervo which is also well worth a visit. There is a nice little river with an old water mill. There is also a nice place for coffee by the bridge with a fantastic restaurant attached to it called O Almacén.
